I might be lucky enough to drive the Valley Motorwerks #37 on Sunday. Hopefully that works out as I can’t sit in the tower both days and let you guys have all the fun!!! Fab work is coming along well but my car will not be ready to say the least. Shooting for a shakedown at the enduro at infineon next month…

Looks like Sunday was a good pick to drive looking at the weather forecast… I actually like rain driving though…

haha I just noticed this on the weather.com website: http://www.weather.com/activities/driving/drivingsafety/drivingsafetytips/wxRain.html?from=tenday_trigger

It’s looking like I’m out :frowning:

Finished up the head reinstall today. Car fired right up and it’s leaking water. The new water pump I put in is leaking pretty steadily. I’m assuming I pinched the gasket or something? Gonna try to find a gasket, take it all apart, and slap it back together. Realistically I probably won’t be in Willows tonight.

I was looking forward to racing in the rain too :frowning:

Well it looks like I had the shortest drive home, so I’ll go first…

It was a very fun weekend both on Saturday in the tower watching, but especially Sunday playing!!! It was the most fun qual session I have ever had. I was thinking to myself, “it’s too early for this s#!t… am I qualifying or in a race?” and it was totally clean, complete with a few new scratches on Anthony’s bumper;) …

Impressive first weekend for Anthony. It is not very often that a rookie turns competitive laps in their FIRST WEEKEND EVER RACING DOOR-TO-DOOR… Great job Anthony!!!

It was a very fun race!!! Even though it did not go the way I had hoped, I had a lot of fun actually goin door-to-door with most of you guys.

I gotta thank Walter and Valley Motorwerks for the opportunity to drive a great car. RIP207,000mi. 2.5liter.:frowning: :frowning: :frowning:

I look forward to growing the class and running with you all in the near future.

I’m really sorry I missed Saturday after hearing how much fun it was. But even better after getting up at 3am and making my way north to find the Spec E30 family tucked in and sleeping, I knew it was going to be a good day…Tenth place only after a missed gear in 12 and letting Peterson and Chough bye there was a crisp Franklin and a Racetech bag waiting for us bottom dwellers, what could be better? Well I guess I would have traded the bag for 5th place! Anyway, thanks Walter for putting the winnings together and all others for letting me come in tenth and collect my booty. I will miss Infineon next month so good luck to all and see you next season.
GO DUCKS!

I had a really great time racing this weekend. The qualifying session on Sunday with Ron in front of me for a couple of laps as I pushed harder then Ron letting me past and putting some fast laps down (for me). Sunday’s race was great to invert the bottom six even though that put me starting last. Thanks to Greg, Bennet, Ron and the 10/10ths driver (sorry didn’t git to know him as he is steves boy and parked elsewhere) for a killer race, I had the most fun since I started racing 10 races ago. Thanks to Walter and Racetech for your cash and bag. Thanks to all of the other racers that finished in front of me as usual. See you all at Sears Point in November. We’ll see if turning fitty years old makes me any faster.

Scott

I turned 50 last June and beleive me it dosen’t help! I guess it helps when you look at your speedo through your old blurry eyes and you see 80 but it’s really 60, you feel fast and young again! Dam I’m old!

Hey Bennett…you’re in the cattle business…isn’t there an old saying: “the older the bull…the stiffer the horn”? (btw…I turned 53 last August so I’m proof you can get faster with age!)

I had a great time too. Thanks to all the SpecE30 racers for all the positive feedback taking over the reigns from Steve K. Thanks also to Steve K for his good wishes and support this weekend. I also need to thank Will Faules and Jerry Kunzman getting me up-to-speed for my new job. Walter Ford needs a big round of applause too…without his support for NorCal our series wouldn’t be where it’s at now. Looking forward to our season ender at Infineon and I think the 2009 season will be even better!

Cheers,
Scott Neville

Hey guys THANK YOU for an awesome weekend! I had the more fun at this race than any other. Saturday’s race was a blast running with Scott and Greg. Sunday’s race was really exciting to watch as there were 2 groups fighting it out tooth and nail.

Will was able to get around Donny and make some room until the rocker arm on the motor went. Luckily it is the intake valve on cyl 6 so all we have to do is slide the shaft forward and pop a new one on, easy peasy.

Alex Kang was at the wheel of the 10/10th’s car and did a really good job runnig in the Sunday race until he spun between 7 and 6, welcome to my world Alex!!

I’m glad everyone liked their gear bags and green! We’ll see you all in November… I’ll drive both days that weekend, I can’t let you guys have all the fun all the time.

#37

I’m sad I missed it. I could’ve been a contender for a RaceTech bag  Sounds like everyone had a great time, like always. It makes me look forward to Infineon even more.

Mad respect to Anthony for showing up and kicking ass.

Also, thanks to everyone who was welcoming to Jerry in the paddock. I talked him into buying an E30 and checking out NASA. He showed up in the black w/checked flag vinyl e30 to do HPDE, but was sent home for harness tech failure (?!).

On the plus side, I picked up another E30 on the cheap this weekend:

The plan is to get it running right (it slowly overheats, compression on cylinder 3 is low, needs a head gasket?), put a cage in it, and do the 24Hrs of LeMons.

I have to say I am hooked! Every time I go to the track I have more and more fun but racing blow it all out of the water! I knew it was going to be a good time but I can not express my excitement, I still can’t sleep because I want to do it all again!

Thanks for the scratches on the bumper Will, just don’t let Sean know he might be upset.

Thanks to all you guys for welcoming me into the group. This series is growing so rapidly and I think it is due all the racers involved. You guys are a great group of racers who get along and there is no drama in the paddock. Oh yeah the cars are also a blast to drive.

Thanks again to Scott N. and Walter for all their efforts.

I hope to be racing will all of you at Infineon.

I had a great time; everyone looked great out there going around and we had very clean races. I love THill clockwise.

Laz - Hope to see you at Infineon.

What a fun weekend! Very impressed with your driving Anthony. You definitely had me a little worried after qualifying so well on Saturday! It has been an amazing year and it’s hard to believe we only have one more race before the season is over. I hope every available driver will be able to make it out so we can have a 15 or so car field. If anybody has made other commitments you need to cancel them immediately!!! Racing takes priority over everything else! (including keggers and frat parties Elliott)!
