Team principles are me, Jim Levie, Fred Switzer and Al K. Al can’t make this race so we’re looking for a 4th driver.
Cost to you will be $500 + incidentals like a share of beer, chow, and paying for whatever crew might want to come help. You don’t pay additional for gas, pads, maint items, etc. That’s a damn cheap Lemons ride.
We’re racing an 325i with OEM suspension. Most of the maint parts have been replaced so it has a decent chance of making it the whole way.
Since we are 4 drivers, the smallest allowed team, you get the max allowable seat time. I don’t recall the race length exactly but I think it’s 15-16hrs spread over 2 days.
Everyone’s probably seen the other posts re. Lemons racing. It’s really a lot of fun. The amount of situational awareness and mind reading required is far higher then a NASA race and there’s no pressure to do well because no one gives a shit. The one Lemons race I’ve done so far was huge fun.
The way to succeed is squeeky clean racing. Small “oops” that would be meaningless in a NASA race will cost the team dearly in penalties.
We don’t really care how good you are. You need to be handy with a wrench, have useful spare parts, and be fun to hang around with.
