About the nicest thing I’ve ever seen said by anyone about anything in the NASA-SE forum.

I couldnt read the thread but is someone pissed about where we parked at CMP??? I mean seriously, the spot designateed for us was taken and I got there at 3pm friday…

I can’t see how anyone would have a problem with the area known as “spec e30 land” at CMP…

Negative. I was bitching about no one bothering to read the parking map. I was annoyed that I ended up 300yds from most of my buddies at CMP. By the time most of the SpecE30’s arrived at CMP our (new) paddock area was full, so most of us had to park back in our normal area.

The same sort of thing happens at RA, of course. Enduro types consume 1/2 of our paddock area so we end up scattered all over. We’ll see that again next week.

For me, NASA weekends, are big social events and the racing is kinda secondary. So the social critical mass that is acheived by us all parking together is important enough to value.

Some guys at the NASA Forums suggested I quit whining. But Falcon, the Big Pine Key (?) Corvette guy, jumped in to my (our) defense by saying that SpecE30 types actually like each other and unlike everyone else at an event, have a great time conducting bonding activities all weekend. And because of that the issue makes sense, even if it might not at first glance to all the haters that spend all their time criticizing each other.

Or something like that.

Next time we run at CMP I will be bringing my badmiton set, so I will need lots of space for that, we will be having a round robin tournament, whatever that is…I will be located at the “normal” spec e30 parking area. Please keep in mind that a badmiton racket is now considered a deadly weapon after that court case in Idaho about that college kid speared another kid in the jugular with a broken off racket, so we will all need to behave. I want to capture some of the competitive spirit that we had down in ATl last year with the ping pong table…plus I KNOW I CAN WHUP ALL YALL AT BADMITON.

now I know I’ve been poppin pain pills all week… but you may be the one who’s out of yur mind… last time you talk smack about whupp’n up on us in paddock games it didn’t fair well for ya. you made it one step in the JP Coates Memorial No Arm Race. Skeen, Jones and I skooled you in fooz ball, pool and ping pong while we were at the lake house. You never came close to beating me at ping pong, and badmiton is like ping pong… you don’t have a chance

don’t think for a sec, that getting you mojo back at CMP will traslate to wins in other areas.

Good gravy!! What’s next? A knitting contest?

I’m gonna have to hang out with my Miata buddies so I can toughen up. :stuck_out_tongue:

You guys are lucky that the contests are open to Spece30 drivers only. If you open it up to E30 soon to be Spece30 drivers, then I’ve got ping pong, badminton and dominoes covered.
I would draw the line at knitting and crochet. Way beyond my skill level :frowning:

Toughen up??? Ever taken a shuttlecock to the eye? You better wear you googles or better yet your helmet and HANS. I would be willing to bet I can beat Steve D 15-0 in Badmiton, mostly cause he would be afraid to hit the dirt going for a shot, which reminds me, you better pack you elbow and knee pads so you don’t hurt yourself, goes for you too Scott MC. Maybe we could have a Spec e30 vs Miata Badmiton Round Robin Tournament.

Al

ps I like saying round robin

Badminton with compulsory helmet & HANS? Count me in!

I shouldn’t gulp the bait like this, but I’m in. I’ll bet you two sets of gently pre-loved R888s that you don’t shut me out.

PS - Crap. This reminds me of the time I popped a tendon in my thumb playing volleyball. The ER doc at Emory thought it would be funny to give me a pink cast. It is a real b!tch taking midterm exams without an opposable thumb.

Right “exams”. I think the internet has a term for the “off hand solution”

Pink cast. The miata was done deal even then.

Ohhh… there’s a set of worthless tires on the match now. Al’s, he’s called you out. You still gonna talk your smack?

Before this gets out of hand, remember we lost Sasha after one of these ‘events’.

Steve follow your own advice. Visors down.

I’ve not heard that name in ages. What ever happen to Sasha?
