The saga of my replacement head was painful. I got it a couple months ago and installed it. I ran compression tests, leakdown tests and drip down tests numerous times. I tested the Strictly German head the same way to make sure I could trust my tests. I also scratched the deck of the good head and had to take it to a local shop for resurfacing. Finally I sent the good head back to builder to get them to explain why it was failing tests. All of that took 2 months and finally I got it back yesterday.

I worked on installing it until 0200 last night and finished it up today.

With some trepidation I attempted to fire it it up a couple minutes ago. And to my genuine surprise, it started.

I’m going to sneak the car out to the highway tonight, and if all goes well I’ll take it to a local dyno for a baseline on Monday.
