Introduction - future spec E30 racer...

#1

Just found this forum and thought I’d introduce myself. Been driving with the the Rocky Mountain BMW CCA for a while now (Autocross and DS).

I’m picking up my E30 325is labor day weekend from my in-laws in Chicago. They’ve had the car since about 1994 and it now has 300k miles on it! They take VERY good care of their cars, but I’m wondering how long this engine can go - even with good maintenance.

Well, I’ve got a lot of reading to do on these forums, but plan on working on the car ASAP then doing some driving schools and autocrossing with the car to sort it out.

Thanks for the forum, and I hope to see some of you at the track!

Can’t wait to meet you Doug! Or race with you for that matter!

I started with an 87 ‘is’ as well. I built mine with the necessities 1st, nice’ities’ later. Sold a whole bunch of stuff on ebay to help fund the project.

I’m in Castle Rock. Let me know if you need some help. Of cours, you look like you know the BMWs well. This is my 2nd one, had an E21 a long time ago.

Sounds like a good plan, Rich!

Hope to have her ready for track duty by spring! I’m sure looking forward to it. In the past, all the cars I’ve taken to the track are street cars, so this will be a neat change.

Thankfully, we have knowledgeable people like Bruce and yourself around town.

Yea, this is my 1st dedicated track car as well. Very nice to not care too much if it blows up! lol

Definitely shoot me an email if you need some help. richvogl@msn.com

We need to start getting some E30s in the pack. I’m tired of all the 944 whoring going on these days in RM!
