Integrated bumper assemblies?

#1

9.3.13.3. Front spoilers, air dams, and splitters are permitted, provided they do not protrude more than two (2) inches beyond the overall outline of the body when viewed from above, perpendicular to the ground, or aft of the forward most part of the fender opening. This body outline does not include bumpers or bumper mounts, but does include integrated bumper assemblies if so equipped.
9.3.13.3.1. Vehicles with integrated bumper assemblies may use aftermarket front one-piece bumper/spoiler unit, provided the original crash bar is maintained.

questions:
do any of the e30’s not have "integrated bumper assemblies"? Or are the integrated ones only on the 89-91 cars?.

do the one piece front bumper covers for an e30 M3 fit an 89-91? I like how spece30 rules specify the original crash bar be maintained. I’ve heard of a CCA JS car with a titanium crash bar! (those rules allow "or equivalent strength")

cheers,
bruce

Aluminum Bumpers ≠ integrated bumper assemblies

Plastic Bumpers = integrated bumper assemblies

I’m a total noob on this, but question is on the older metal bumpers, can you remove them or are they considered the crash bar?

Those with the older metal bumpers are stuck with them. A rather lengthy discussion regarding this came about a few months ago - you can probably find with a search.

I sometimes wish I had the big bumpers. There’s no problem getting the car to min. weight, the weight is fairly low in the car, and in a "nudge" situation, having more protection can be a good thing.

After this weekend I may be inclined to agree with you! I’ll post later about it.
