Getting close to having "Red Dog" running, seems that the injectors are the problem so I am working on cleaning them up and hopefully they will work again. Anybody got first-hand experience with cleaning injectors? Any advice? Also, will injectors from an eta work in an i? They look the same.
Injector cleaning
This might help…

"i" and "e" injectors are different.
While you can try to clean injectors yourself (I did it in the past) I would suggest sending them to a place that does that - they will do much better job no matter how hard you try. Good place is http://www.cruzinperformance.com

Igor[/quote]+1 for cruzinperformance. Good price, web based results: http://www.cruzinperformance.com/injcleaned/retrieve.php

what my results were.
I just bought all new ones because I was able to get them at cost (Around $48 each) and it was $25 ea. + shipping to clean the old ones. In addition, I have had some issues with the cleaning process for the 944 injectors (much more expensive). One came back a leaker (think it might have had a slight leak beforehand) and the last set came back with one having a stuck solenoid. Tapping on it with a screwdriver handle while the engine was running got it unstuck.
I used Marren Fuel Injection. FWIW, they promptly refunded the $$ for the injector that came back leaking as they are supposed to find that out before they send it back.
I have an extra set I would "loan" to anyone that wants to send them out for cleaning, just replace them with your old ones…
