Infineon Season opener 2/27-28/2010

#21

So now it looks like rain late Friday and overnight with rain decreasing early Saturday with improvement throughout the day into Sunday, so a chance of showers Saturday and a slight chance on Sunday. BUT there are other models showing the storm track being split by the developing short-wave ridge if we are to the south of the split there might be heavier rain/showers in the forecast over the period because of a sub tropical push but if we are north of the split it will be lighter. Either way Friday night looks wet totals could be over 1" with gusty winds…

I’m making a cheapskate bet against rain.

I had the phone ready to order a set of full tread ra1’s today, but decided to gamble and go with an old set of r888’s with a moderate amount of tread on em. Coincidentally, this is the set that I loaned to Brenden in the rain last year … hopefully they’ll work out better for me

Don’t jinkz it ADAM!

#24

Adam, Since you’re gonna have ‘rains’, I’ll just follow you around in your tire tracks. Please don’t spin off or I’ll have to pit.

#25

Adam,

Just watched your rain driving from 12 months ago…that is so fun to watch. Both how to and how not to.

I see F1 level strategies taking place in the paddock, as all teams carefully eye each other, waiting for each team to show it’s hand, dry, intermediates, or full wets. What will it be…anxiety builds as all eyes turn to Duck boy…they see him reach a finger to the skys,…he eyes his iPhone,… another hand to the wind, …he is about to pull the cover off his tires he has installed with their Tire Totes still on,…every one stands ready,… lug wrench in hand, breaker bar and cordless ready to go. Except for Donny that is, who will be awake just seconds before the start.

Hey it’s F1 to me Baby! We even have Umbrella boys,…you know who you are Sean.

#26

Well guys I did spring for a set of full tread RA1s last month so we now know we’ll have a dry race on Saturday…probably the rest of the season too

#27

Someone once said, in racing “proper preparation” is an essential ingredient to success…Subscribing to that, why not have a set of both?

Either way, it’s going to be a great weekend, I’m PUMPED!

Models agree, rain Friday and Friday night heavy at times with high winds and a thunder shower Saturday morning then partly cloudy much like Wednesdays weather, sunny on Sunday.

#32

Thanks Bennett.

If everyone goes out and buys full tread RA1s it will be clear as a bell for sure!

I’m thinking I should also Rain-x my windows to “seal-the-deal” with the rain

I just found out that Gary Rieger will be racing the Berkeley Motorwerks #29 SE30. The car got rebuilt following its “ball up” at Thill last season. That brings our season start total to 16 cars. Pretty cool!

Looks like we’re not racing with Group B anymore plus the times have changed:

Here’s the link for the new schedule:

#38

It looks like we have a qual race to set the starting positions for the real race on Sunday: 11:10 AM - 11:30 AM (0:20) Group E Qualifying Race (invert possible, as always)

What an exciting first race weekend. Buy you guys are sure friendly with one another, your cars are friendly too! Alot of lipstick was traded.

I think with all the lead dogs moving to the front of the harness, it is going to be very interesting each weekend. Adam and I think we are going to start a parts car business. I will be our first customer with a hood, left front fender, bumper, and Right Door.

Even the nice guys got into the action.

Congrats to the podium finishers, they worked hard for it.

My shoulders are killing me. See you all in a couple weeks.
