Infineon Race Weekend November 8th & 9th

Great Weekend!

Thank-you to everyone in nor cal spec e30 for making my rookie season the best experience I could have wished for. I have learned a lot and made many new friend ships. Here is the Saturday “fun” race video. http://www.vimeo.com/2192187 I also have both Sunday races that I will post in the next couple of days. If AJ and Tony have their videos I would love to see them.

Awesome weekend to top off the season.

The only thing I’d change would be to make Saturday’s “fun race” the qualifying for Sunday

I’ll put my videos up on vimeo in a bit (probably 2nd sunday race first, since it’s not shot in macro mode)

Hey guys, I had a great time this weekend. I’ll figure out Vimeo and put mine up too - might be next weekend since I’m out of town most of this week. Glad to see all the new guys as well as Mike S. since the last time I ran in June. This group is getting a lot faster and the cars are better developed - next season should be really fun.

We did go out with a great race weekend this year. 13 WestCoast SpecE30’s mixing it in laying phat beats down with the Miata’s, mixed wet and dry events - hard to beat at a venue like Infineon. I want to say Thanks to everyone, this was my first season ever racing and I have to say it was a great introduction. This series is taking off on the West Side.

Carl.

Also my first full season racing and even more fun than I hoped for.

And, I want to add my appreciation to the list. I can’t thank you all enough for your support and all of the laughs.

Thanks for the free paint samples from your bumpers, thanks videos of my spins, thanks for inverting the grid so I could start up front, thanks for the Spec E30 shirts …

That was fun.
I forgot how good a weekend at the track with all you could be.
I’m looking forward to 09.
Thanks Brendon for pestering me to come bake.

Your welcome mike. It was good to have you back and I like the new paint scheme. Lets hope I can make it out for the '09 season…Working on the write-up as we speak…

Here is the link for qualifying on Sunday and gets you onto my Vimeo videos which has the races on Sunday. http://vimeo.com/2211020
Again had a great time. I wrote an email after Scott N’s email to Jerry about running in group E. He emailed me back here is a copy.
Scott,
Thank you for this feedback. For some reason I never got a copy of the
original msg from Scott N. So, I am CCing everyone.
I am still working out logistics for 2009, which include racing format. But
I can tell you that 1) I am going to concentrate my efforts on E30 and 2)
plan on running them with SM as their own group whenever possible.
I am sincerely impressed with the growth this year, and I am going to do
what I can to further that for next year.
Scott N- please let me know if you guys come up with some ideas to help
participation even more.

Jerry

Sounds good to me!

Scott C.

My video is up on vimeo.com now:
Race #1 http://vimeo.com/2219409 (blurry camera)
Race #2 http://vimeo.com/2227404

I’ll probably also be blathering on and on and on about both of them in my blog ( http://raulmazda.blogspot.com ) at some point.

It was a GREAT way to end the season! 13 SpecE30s and it sounds like at least 6 more being prepared for early next season. I still haven’t figured out why Jerry K didn’t get my email…but thanks to Scott C responding the original note which ultimately made it to Jerry. NASA NorCal has high hopes for our series and is going to give it a lot more attention next season. :cheer:

Cheers,
Scott

Fantastic video and comments throughout. Hey if I was doing the video it would look like Must stay ahead of Adam. Must run a perfect line to catch Scott. Last lap, must run a perfect lap or Adam is going to pimp me.

This was obviously a finish dictated in qualifying - I have my work cut out to stay ahead of you next year!

Hey everyone,
Just wanted to poke my head out and say that Kenny and myself really enjoyed meeting everyone and watching the E30 field race last weekend. In fact, we loved it so much we decided to add an E30 spec car to the Gorman Motorsports stable and participate in the NASA events. We’re going to be working with Speed Trapp Racing (Sean and Tony) on the build. I’m sure we’re going to have a lot of questions for the seasoned E30 folks!

For those of you we met, was a pleasure and look forward to brining another car to the field in '09!

Hey guys I need the team driver names for each day

Team Brimstone Dynasty
Team Brimstone Dynasties

Also I assume this was the normal circuit without 7a?

TIA

Hmm, I don’t know where the 2nd one came from. We were in Group A on saturday for 1 race, then drove in 2 points races on Sunday in Group E (bumped to run w/spec miata). Normal Infineon, no 7a.

Donny Edwards drove Team Brimstone Dynasty both days.
Team Valley Motorwerks was Kevin Borchers for the first race, Carl Chiu for the 2nd.

Hey Simon,

“Team Brimstone Dyanasties” is an error, it should be “Team Valley Motorwerks”, Carl Chiu was driving on Sunday, Kevin Borchers on Saturday. Valley Motorwerks has called NASA NorCal to get it corrected.

Thanks,
Scott

Guys… I had a great time racing both days with all of you. It is very clear that you all have stepped up your game over the season. Looks like I am going to need some driving lessons!!!

We are making a few changes with the team and car ownership. Kevin is going back to school but I hope we’ll see him around the paddock as he will be instructing and working safety with NASA. I am sure he is going to find his way into one or more of the Pointsix/VMWERKS cars next season…

Hey,
What an awesome weekend on all accounts and to have 13 cars competing wasn’t bad either. I finally figured out how to shrink my videos so I uploaded the rain race to vimeo… http://www.vimeo.com/2236482 Those Vimeo users, do you know if there is a way to upload them sow they show up widescreen? Thanks everyone for the great season, I have learned a lot. Special thanks to Ron at AIM Tire and Walter at Valley Motorworks, for the contingency money and the support for the series. Auto Analysts II, Thanks for your support with the brake pad drawings. Donny Edwards thanks a bunch for the pointers, they helped a bunch. Barry Hartzel has also helped me tremendously throughout the season. Steve Krshul, thanks for the racing chats and such. AJ Goldsmith, Scott Nevile, etc for the great friendships and great battles throughout the season…To the rest, thanks a lot for the great times at the track. I hope are friendships last if I race or not. I am almost done with a write-up for the weekend, so it should be done this week.
