Inboard Lap Belt Mounting

#1

For mounting the inboard lap belt, I know it is better to have a reinforcement plate welded to the transmission tunnel/floor, and attach the eye bolt through it. If the eye bolt it attached to the seat mount (as with stock seats), will that pass muster?

TIA,
Alex

Not optimal really. Would rather have the belt attached to the chassis/ through the floor. Now you are holding the seat as well as the seat mount. Should the seat mount fail, you are attached to it and loose.

I know it’s not as safe, was only looking at it as a temporary measure until I can weld in the mounting plates.

I couldn’t find the specific language in SpecE30 rules, but Pro3 rules explicitly state that the harnesses must be attached directly to the chassis or roll cage.
