Improving trailer's manners

#1

The distance between your truck’s rear axle and your hitch ball is the lever arm that your trailer uses to move your truck around, both up/down and left/right. Anything that shortens that distance, will make your trailer behave better. In 2015(?) I moved my hitch ball about 2", call it 10%, closer to the truck’s rear axle by drilling a hole in the receiver shank. This allows you to push your receiver shank deeper into your truck’s receiver.

It took a while because the shank is solid, not hollow.
