IFU3: The Spec E30 Event of the Year!!!

#1

Just wanted to make sure all were aware Chuck, Factory 3 Performance and NASA SE will be hosting the 3rd Annual IFU at CMP next month (Nov.7).

The IFU (Inverted Field Unlimited) is a Spec E30 Only “fun race” that’s run at the end of the day. Tom and Chuck cook up some crazy scheme for a race filled with shenanigans and some of the closest racing throughout the pack… IMO it’s the most fun had on track. Historically, it’s also yielded the largest fields with 29 competitors at last years event.

CMP always provides great racing and the improvements to the track and facilities make this a great venue… So if any of you guys in the Mid-Atlantic or Northeast or aren’t ready to say goodbye to the season. Or if you guys in Florida want to come up and mix it up in one of the largest fields of SE30’s… This is a great event.

Chuck will be posting more details (and there are threads ongoing in the southeast forum)

I just wanted to let y’all know it’s on! Hope to see you there!

Why is the driver in that graphic wearing a dress shoe and a flipper?

He is the poster child for this year’s IFU charity - the Gigantic Foot Foundation.

GFF is a horrible condition afflicting tens of people worldwide. It is of specific concern to racecar drivers since it makes throttle application especially difficult, but ironically heel/toe shifting considerably easier.

I’m sure Scott just forgot to mention that aspect of IFU 3.

So c’mon out - its for the kids this year.

Jim, you are the best at humor.

Helment is completely IFUed.

I’m going to try and make this one. Work has kept me out of the mix for many months.

Group, we’ve just now opened registration, via the Factory 3 Performance website, for the IFU-3 race. Those who are veterans of IFU-1 and IFU-2 will definitely want to come back for the third edition; those insane NASA-SE operatives have collaborated with Factory 3 to dream up what we think is a killer format for this year.

Of course, you have to race to experience it, so don’t miss out.

I’ll apologize in advance for the compressed lead team, but Oktoberfest put me a few weeks behind, and with the lead times for T-shirt production, we need to get all the advance orders in by next Wednesday, Oct 21st, to guarantee that you will get a shirt (and that it will be in your requested size). So, please click on over and get registered for the event.

(And, before anyone asks, no you can’t just run the IFU-3. You have to be registered for the regular Lightning/SpecE30 race as well to run the IFU-3)

Oh, and in addition to the really slick shirt design courtesy of Scott McMennamy, we’ll also have a special 6th place trophy crafted by Southeast’s own Mr. Mom, Craig Geegar)
