IFU-6 at Roebling

#1

Jim P tells me we can return to our IFU roots and hold the 6th edition of this goofy event at Roebling in April. A good excuse for MA and FL drivers to come join in the insanity as well.

Details to be sorted out in the next few weeks, but mark your calendars and plan to attend the Roebling race weekend and be part of IFU-6!

Edit: meant to post this in the SE forum

Chuck, the announcement is in the right place. Bring 'em all in from the other regions and we’ll put on a great event for everyone.

With the close competition we had at RA this past weekend, the RR race should be a blast. Can’t wait to see everyone there.

With ScottM out, are we SOL for t-shirts?

I’ve absolutely zero artistics abilities, but if we had a design I’d coord for the t-shirts.

Gents, we’re going to make a try to continue the tradition of terrific IFU T-shirts. If we’re to make this work, we need size info. Lets get a roster going. If for some reason you want two T’s, now is the time to say so.

If you have any questions about the T’s, ask them. Be advised, however, that no matter what your question is, I won’t know the answer. For example:
“What colors”. “I don’t know”.
“Will long sleeve be available”. “I don’t know”.
“Will they be 100% cotton because I have sensitive skin”. “I don’t know”.
“Did you sleep with my girlfriend”. “I don’t know.”

Hey Guys

I have run in every IFU…would love to keep the streak going but doubt I will make it. I still do not feel like running RR. The following is just my opinion and stuff I hear, you have to use your own experience to decide, PLEASE do not think that I am trying to persuade anyone from attending…at the last VDCA/CCA race there was at least one very rare, expensive car badly wrecked, and from what I “hear” the understaffing by RR may have contributed. I believe that the RR staff are not above short staffing to save some $$. Now I realize that this may not be an issue with NASA SE, but reminds me of the Saturday race where the track sent one person in a truck to remove a Miata stuck in the sand at 1 thus insuring that we had a yellow at start finish and 1 for the entire race. That is not what I pay for. Add to that the general disposition of the staff, I believe I will be running the VDCA race at VIR the same weekend.

I hope yall have a fun and safe weekend, every IFU has been a blast and is a great learning tool for the new guys.

Be that as may be, I still want to come up. The SE is where it’s at and I’ve been wanting to run with the cool kids for a while now. Running an IFU and with the SE gang, even that much better!

We are actually going to get a little more business-like about it, returning to the high-finance Paypal model we’ve used so well in the past.

Stay tuned for pricing, but the basic idea will be the same as before. Discount for paying up front, along with assurance of getting another excellent ScottMC shirt design. Extra shirts always an option.

For some reason this year, the signups for RRR in general are pretty light, so we have decided to invite some of the other cars with similar performance potential (Miatas and 944s) to join the fun.

As usual, it should be the best price/value tracktime you can find, along with being an excellent immersion course in situational awareness and traffic management. Good times!
