IFU-4 Registration Now Open

#1

Gang, the IFU-4 registration window is finally open for business. Many of you have done this before, so you know the drill.

This is an extra, fun race, for SpecE30 cars only, that will be run on Saturday, in addition to the usual Lightning race group activities.

The word for the race is fun! The devious minds at IFU Central and Race Control do their best to keep us on our toes and wondering what might be coming next!

We are keeping the price the same as last year, at $80 per entrant. The requirements are that the driver/car must also be registered for the regular NASA weekend (i.e. you can’t just show up for the IFU) and you must race a SpecE30 car.

Included with the race entry fee is a very cool T-shirt, designed by ScottMC, BUT, I must have your payment in hand (Paypal or snail mail) by October 26th in order to guarantee a shirt. Entries after that date are allowed, but you will probably miss out on the shirt, and you wouldn’t want that to happen.

With your payment, please specify shirt size, and note the upcharge for 2XL. If you want to pre-order more than one shirt, additional shirts are $15 each.

You can either Paypal or snail mail the funds to me, at

Get signed up, register with NASA if you haven’t already, and let’s see if we can’t get the single largest SpecE30 race field in history together at CMP in November!

It’s going to be tough to beat last years ending.

IFU-2 - Inverted Start - “Australian Chase” - cars started in groups of 4 based on lap times to get all to finish at the same time
IFU-3 - Inverted Start / re-inversion 1/2 way thru the race w/standing re-start and a Lemans finish
IFU-4 - Inverted Start…

Somebody’s getting their excuses ready
The sun was only bad coming out of 8. If we were to run counter clockwise, the sun would be just as bad coming out of turn 3 or 1. However, I believe Chuck and Jim have a solution. But even if we run at the same time of day as last year… it’ll still be a blast.

We’ll be fine on light. For one thing, DST doesn’t end until Sunday this year, and also Jim moved the IFU up a bit so it is not the last session. The current draft has us done by 440 and sunset is at 625pm

I’ve gotten quite a few online payments, and several ‘snail mail’ as well. Unfortunately, I wasn’t home this weekend so haven’t seen those yet. Will compile and post a roster of IFU entrants next weekend when I’m home.

On the CMP Smack Talk Thread, Pantas writes:

What if we throw in a free NASA-SE 2011 weekend for one of the IFU racers? A random drawing for the winner?

Hey, you could even make money on this deal. Come on out guys!

Attention all e30 racers… It appears Mr. Pantas has sweetened the appeal for this years IFU with the offer for one of the IFU-4 racers to win a FREE 2011 NASA Southeast Race Weekend!!! :woohoo:

If all the e30’s who are currently signed up for the Turkey Trot sign up for the IFU-4, your odds of winning are 20 to 1. Hell, 30 to 1 sounds pretty good to me.

Is it okay to just paypal you for a shirt since I can’t race yet?
