IFU-2 Registration Open!

#1

Alright everyone, advance registration has opened for the second annual Inverted Field Unlimited (IFU-2) race, presented by Factory 3 Performance.

To be held at the NASA-SE May 17th Roebling weekend, this will be a non-points fun race at the end of the day on Saturday, immediately preceding the party/awards.

Those of you who ran it last year remember how much fun it was, and this years edition should be more of the same. The race is only open to SpecE30 cars, and will be a long-ish sprint race of 40-50 minutes (exact duration hasn’t been finalized).

Like last year, since we’ll be the only cars on the track, we’ll have the undivided attention of the entire paddock. The format will be different than IFU-1, and that’s all we’re at liberty to say right now.

There will be contingency awards from Factory 3 Performance, and Craig Geiger is once again producing a special IFU-2 trophy for the mystery finishing position winner.

Scott McMennamy, of BeerTech racing and BottleRocket advertising, has created a very cool t-shirt design to commemorate this year’s race. The shirt design includes elements for both the front and the back, and as a teaser, this is the front image:

Each race registration includes one of the coveted IFU-2 shirts, and since the shirt production vendor will need some lead-time, we’re giving you a $10 discount, to $80, for registrations completed by May 3rd, as an incentive. After that date, or at the track, the price will be $90.

We have invited Scott Lear and the Grass Roots Motorsports Project SpecE30 car to come up and race with us, and he has tentatively accepted. We’re hoping to make this weekend this biggest single Spec30 race field ever, anywhere in the country. Can’t make it to Nationals? This will be the next best thing!

You are encouraged to complete the advance registration process by visiting http://www.factory3performance.com/shop/shopexd.asp?id=289

So, please sign up today, and also make sure to get registered for the NASA weekend on the NASA-SE website. Charge up those camcorder batteries, and get ready for a blast!

I’m really looking forward to the RRR weekend.

For those of you who missed this last year… this is one of those rare opportunities to see Skeen in your rear view mirror.

See you guys (and Laura) there!

I should also clarify the cancellation policy:

A full refund is available until May 3rd. After that date, if you do not participate in the IFU-2 race, we will refund the amount paid, less $20 to cover the cost of the T-shirt.

It was a BLAST to watch last year, and this year I am hoping to be in the middle of it all! I wouldn’t miss it for the world!

With you and Chuck being in on all this plot twists… I think it’s only fair that you guys have to race with blind folds.

Not a bad idea! Who knows I might actually be faster! :silly:

Look at the bright side–if Pantas is out racing with us, it’ll be harder for him to screw us over while we’re out there!

Jimmy, Any chance I can trade my Sunday race for the IFU2? My son is graduating HS Sunday morning and I can’t race Sunday as planned. It will be Saturday only for me. :frowning:

Contact Julie registration@… about a 1-Day race option

 • but the IFU-2 is sponsored and funded by Factory 3 - we are simply the sanctioning body. You’ll still have to sign up for the IFU-2 thru Factory 3…

Oh how I wish I was racing by this time! Sounds like a a blast. On the brightside, should make for some good TV. I’ll bring another shooter and camera and see what kind of nonsense we can get on film.

Cannes here I come.

By the way, car is getting closer to ready…paint going on this weekend. The checklist is getting shorter.

Hoping to do a another HPDE or two, then get my comp school out of the way in time for a big debut when we return to CMP!

Mooooove over, here I come!

AH yes… the ever shrinking list :woohoo:

I recall those days where you could mark the milestones… down to one page, just 20 more things to do, last 10… then comes the “Oh yeah? what about this and that” stage

I’m into my second season and I still have a list

Looking forward to you joining us and learning what the theme of you car will be.

As for video of the IFU-2, I’m sure you could get all the in-car footage your eye’s can stand. :pinch:

I want to go so badly!

I wish it was a little closer :frowning:

As everyone has said this is a must do event. Coming up through the field twice last year was the most fun I have ever had in a race car. And holding off Hollywood Skeen at the end went into my highlight reel.

As the defending IFU champion I invite you all to come and try and take the crown!:stuck_out_tongue:

Anyone who was there last year will surely agree…

Just to race at Roebling Road is worth the drive. The IFU is just icing on the cake.

BTW: Damion, if fixed your typo

#15

Scott your editing skills amaze me. Too bad your driving skills don’t:woohoo:

as they say… it’s only funny because it’s true :frowning:

#17

Damion, what do you mean going through the field twice? I thought you only made it half way each time.

#18

Hmm, a dispute!

Better go hit the lapcharts and see what we see:

Start through Lap 14:

Remainder to finish:
