the trailer is hardly a year old, previous owner did made some contact with other solid objects but from the pictures I saw and given the price I think it’s a great starting point. Fix it, do a couple upgrades inside, I am pretty sure for $3500 Scott will have a great looking trailer which will be a steal.
I want an enclosed trailer
So…Did the F-150 handle the 24 foot trailer ok?
I will be looking into the enclosed trailer thing early next year, this is kinda imporant as I have a Ram 1500…Would like the 24 option too…
I think that with helper springs and a weight dist hitch set very tight the F-150’s suspension would have handled it ok. Would have been hard on diff and tranny tho.
The real problem was that the weight took the engine outside of it’s comfort zone. Unloaded @60mph I could not get 9mpg. I estimate 6mpg loaded at 65. That wasn’t tolerable so I bought a 2000 F-250 Diesel. I now get 12.x mpg@ 65mph. Here’s the tale…http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1900520&highlight=diesel
Thanks Ranger…That is a good read. Not sure I can swing swapping the truck just yet. Looks like the mileage hit was the big issue for you…I can handle that for awhile. Would still have a 250 + mile range at 8 mpg…
Starting to research the trailers now for the next few weeks.

Plan for 6mpg. 8mpg was slow, perfectly flat and empty. You’ll burn thru a fortune of gas, then your drivetrain will start to fail. There’s some weaknesses in that plan.
