HVAC access panel

So while the head & intake are off, I want to fix the loose hvac access panel.

Does anybody know if just buying new screw grommets will fix this? My current ones just pop out in 3 of the 4 locations. Or is some type of oversized grommet needed now that it’s gotten to this point?

The OEM fasteners don’t work very well. Might want to homebrew something.

New plastic pieces will fix that.

its got that funky square hole thing goin on. If new or better used plastic dont work, you may be able to:
-install a Rivnut in square hole on the firewall opening
-spot or JB weld a bolt poking fwd thro the hole and put cover on with nuts on front
-get Ranger to weld cover on for you. Access is overrated anyway.:wink:

I don’t so much “weld” sheetmetal as “burn holes” in it.

Can’t seem to find the right page on RealOEM. Anybody know the part number for that screw grommet?
