How to remove Steering Wheel Lock?

Just wondering how best to remove the steering wheel lock mechanism – I’ll confess that I haven’t yet pulled the column apart to look.

It’s been a while since I disabled mine, & I did a quick search for the diy post that I’d used to no avail, but if I remember right there’s a pin that slides back and forth that you simply pop out.

Someone else may be able to be more specific…

Easy.

Pull the wheel.

Look for the roll pin that holds the latch mechanism.

With a small punch or a nail drive the roll pin out. Once you can grab it with some needle nose pliers you can twist it out.

Take out the latch mechanism and throw it away. Throw the pin away.

Reinstall the wheel.
