Spec is .0008 - .0018. I’m assembling the bottom end. It looks like one of my crank journals got a bit too much polishing or something. Plastigage says it’s .003, so exceeds spec by .0012. Do I go with it as is, or do I back off?
If I do back off, is the logical approach to get an oversize bearing and have the crank machined to fit, or should I find a refurb crank?
If I go with it as is, what is the impact of the increased bearing clearance? Reduced bearing life? Reduced oil pressure? How much?
Am kinda bumming about this. I’m running out of time before RA. And I was due for some good luck.
