How do you mount ducting?

#1

I don’t have the car here–I’m picking it up from the body shop and heading straight to the track. So I can’t look at it.

Can you guys tell me what you used to mount brake ducting? I’m assuming hose clamps of some kind, but what did you attach it to, and with what? I need to collect the stuff before I see the car.

Photos would be awesome. Thanks!

There’s some 6mm bolts welded to the frame and sheetmetal in useful places forward of the front hub. Get yourself a roll of perforated steel strapping, thin sheet steel about 1" wide and full of holes, and use that to tie up the duct hose. The trick is to allow just enough slack between fastening point and hub such that the duct won’t come off when the wheel is pointed outboard, and won’t droop to the ground when turned inboard.

Thanks. After much consideration I realized I would never be able to make anything nearly as good as a prefabbed kit.
