My car is still running a little funky after finally getting around to my cap, rotor, timing belt and tensioner. I pulled the afm cover to have a look. The black grooves don’t look to bad but I don’t see how you can adjust the brushes out of the grooves. Do you slot the holes on the board and slide it toward the moving part of the meter?
How do I adjust my air meter?

A slight change in the bend of the arm will move the pickup points to new tracks. But if the problem is most pronounced at idle, the cause is probably intake leaks. The only sure way to locate intake leaks is to have a smoke test run on the intake.
