hood insulation

#1

9.3.13.26. Any sound-deadening/insulation and protective materials may (3.1) be removed from the interior of the passenger, engine, and trunk compartments.

Pretty sure that means the big mat on the underside of the hood (the gray thing that covers the back of the windshield squirters) is OK to remove - correct?

Just making sure. Getting very close to done! Seats went in this weekend, so did motor mounts and tranny mounts.

All that is left is fire system and a hard brake line that rusted through (first time I have seen that - and the car is relatively rust free). Then the paint and sunroof hole patch.

Getting excited…

I think your all legit to remove that but not 100% so you may want another opinion. also I dont know how nice your paint is but the hood will likely get much warmer thus somewhat affecting the paint. just a thought

Ok to remove that.
It won’t affect the paint at all, either.

Thanks guys!

Under hood temps will drop a tad probably because the hood will be able to sink heat a bit better.

Bonus. BTW, Rob, placed a nice order with BW about a month ago - great service, great stuff. Thanks! Everything arrived as expected and works great.
