[quote]Right now I am looking at the G-Force 6 pt Camlock harness in pull down config. Does anyone have any opinions or suggestions for anything different? I know this is a preference question but I have never used a 5/6 pt harness before and I don’t want to get something I’ll hate. The seats are going to be Corbeau FX1 Pro. I’m about 5’9", 165lb. I plan to buy new and the best price I’ve found is about $135. Thanks guys!

I have this system and it’s fine. I’d be interested in looking at the “pull up” design, because my waist adjustment buckles are in a bad place. But G-Force’s pull up design is SFI not FIA, and that’s a problem.
I’d also be interested in looking at a 2" waistbelt design. They are supposed to be better but they seem to be a lot more expensive.
If I had a HANs I’d get the 2" shoulder straps.
I have an Impact belt system for my passenger seat. It’s the design with the spring loaded adjusters that prevent loosening. And boy do they do that.
I think that the thinner you are, the tougher it is to find a belt system that has an easily adjustable waist strap. If you are a big guy the waist strap adjusters maybe could be in the seat with you. That would make them easier to adjust. I’m skinny so my adjusters are outside my seat in the cramped 2" of space between seat and belt mount. And that’s a hard place to get any adjusting done.
What I’ve had to do is adjust the waist tight and then use racer tape to prevent any slippage. Therefore I don’t adjust them and they don’t slip. But it makes them a little hard to get on.
The bottom line is that there are a lot of little things that makes a strap system work well. And some of the variables have nothing to do with the strap. If you possibly can, go sit in some other guy’s cars and see how their waist belts work. And consider where you wantthe waist belt adjuster to end up, and how the waist belt fastening point is going to impact the position of that adjuster.
The shoulder straps would seem to be infantry simple but I had to weld a bar on to my cage horiz crossbar in order to raise the shoulder straps. Now that my shoulder straps are truly horiz my driving position is a lot more comfortable. Shoulder straps that slope down a little not only shove your HNR into your shoulders, but also scrunch you down in your seat.
