Has anyone removed this from the driveline? I was looking at a Z4 3.0 short shifter kit and the only problem reported is that on some cars it hits the harmonic balancer between the transmission and the guibo. I can’t imagine it’s a big deal, but didn’t want to add undue stress to the drivetrain either.

I have a later E30 that had it and while I don’t run Spec E30 I have not found that balancer to be of any significance other than vibrations to make the ride smoother than previous models.
I’m sure everyone on here would agree that there is nothing wrong with yanking it and tossing it aside.:blink:
I’ll second that, and add for some reason mine was one of the hardest things to remove from the car. I had to dremel the heads off the bolts to finally get it out.
No issues since its destruction.
