I got into the rear suspension and both the rear half shafts have cv joints that are leaking/shot/torn/and clunking.
A great combination.
What source would people reccomend for some replacements?

Half shafts are one of the few things that I’ve not had the pleasure of working on. I think there is a source in Atlanta called Atlanta Driveline. You can get the price for a rebuilt half shaft and compare the amount to a junkyard trailing arm assembly as you’ll need to pull the entire rear sub-frame to replace the bushings and the sub-frame mounts before the car is trackworthy.Right? Call if I can help out, 770-886-2500.Regards, Robert Patton
Heh Robert!
One of these day we will both be in town at the same time…
The "car" is on my f250 Jack Stands and sitting proud above the ground.
There is not a suspension material, spring, shock, or brake component that does not need to be replaced, rebuilt or inspected on this wonderful vehicle.
I am taking your advice and just dropping it all, then reinforcing, then replacing all the bushings.
The rear springs actually fell right out of the car when I jacked it up. Someone lowered the vehicle with a cutting torch.
It is a lot of fun, but I am just trying to find out how bad the parts lists is going to be on the wallet. But it has the right differential is reasonably straight and cheap.
So we all know in the future it will have the right differential, be reasonably straight and cost 5 time what I paid for it to get on the track. Which still won’t be too bad.
ps on a totally unrelated note, do you know of anywhere/anyone who offers reasonable trailer storage in the alpharetta/cummings area? Got a 20ft open trailer that needs a new home.
BMP design in Tyler TX has half shafts as well as probably other places. The factory boots are vastly superior to the aftermarket ones and since they are a pain to change, the investment may be worth it.
