H&R Race springs for $305 shipped

#1

Just doing my civic duty to the SE30 community. I found this thread on BF.com where an H&R dealer is selling the spec race springs for our car at $305 shipped. He claims to have them in stock too. Here is the link. Check out post #43 in the thread.

NICE! Its about time for some competative pricing on the springs.

Now if there could just be a price war o sways. . . .

JP,
If you are interested in the Suspension Techniques sway bar kit I found a good deal at Summit racing. They have it for $259 shipped which is the best price that I found when I was shopping for parts.

Has anyone got any feedback on the ST kit vs the IE sway bar kit?

JP,

I’m obviously no expert driver, but when I drove two E30’s (an M3 and a 325is) with the IE sways, I felt the rear was too hard. Granted, I don’t know if they had the bar set to full hard, but both of those cars were very tail-happy. I was really happy with my ST set-up at VIR. The price made me happy, too; I recall paying about $300 for the front and rear, but the price Ken reports is even better.

has anyone installed this yet? According to the Summit page, it only fits Cab’s.

Universal No
Make BMW
Model 325
Beginning Year 1987
Ending Year 1988
Application Notes Fits Cabriolet models only. Rear anti-sway bar is adjustable

I’d like to order a set, but want to be sure that it will fit my '87 325is

Thoughts?

The part number is the same as what Turner and Flying Brick sell so I would be pretty certain that it will fit your car. Although I do not have this kit on my car, I went with the Ireland kit.

Even when the ST bars come, the front bar instruction page lists the applications and the 325i/s is among them. The rear, however, only says it’s for the cabrio. It "fit" on my car, too, though. I did have to man-handle it a bit because the bends in the rear bar seem to be a little too narrow, so getting the bushings in place required a little grinding to make the bracekt holes bigger, a round-shaft screw driver stuck through all the holes to achieve proper alignment, and then a carpenter’s wood clamp to hold things in place while I installed the bolt.
