Great Bunny Chase (Second Saturday Race at RRR)

#1

Hey Everyone!

So we’re in the midst of planning The Great Bunny Chase and we need to start working on a headcount! For those of you that want to be involved in a second race on Satruday, please let us know below. This will be a timed race (Austrailian Start Style) with the overall goal being to catch the bunny (aka Laura). The racer that finishes closest to the bunny will win and this time our sponsor, Geno’s Garage, will be putting a $100 for the winner!

The race costs $50 and will take place at the end of the day on Saturday.

Please let me know if you’re planning on attending this extra race. Monies will be collected at the track but I need to put together a list of people.

Also, I will be serving up a Low County Boil on Friday evening as we all arrive to the track. I’ll have plenty of shrimp and some homemade pies. It’s BYOB and the cost is only $10 per person. I’m planning on serving around 7pm but I need a head count of how many people would like to partake in the Boil.

Hope to see everyone at Roebling as this will be an awesome event!

I’m in for both.

For those of us that have done the IFU races, the Bunny Chase is an evolution of the race. However, in the spirit of real competition, the staggered start of the racers in the Australian format should have all racers cross the finish line at the same time…and in hot pursuit of the bunny. So, it is a real race. Grated, the fast racers will start at the end of the field, but this is where strategy is involved. Do you race others in the pack or work with other racers to race through the pack.

Oops, no one should catch another racer until the last lap at the finish line.

Who will be closest to the bunny?

Stratergy is of the upmost importance.

Given about a 30 minutes time slot the race should be about 10-12-15 laps of green flag racing. Don’t cause a caution 'cause it’ll screw things up.As we get closer, Pantas will determine the length so that we can stagger the start based on previous race lap times.

I’m in for both! I’m also driving in the Test&Tune of Friday. Hope there will be some other SE30s I can follow around and learn the track before the races on Sat-Sun.

Paul, congratulations on your 3rd place finish–in the rain-- at VIR.
When you race the MA folks, well, you’ve raced with some of the best.

Rain racing takes a special talent, too. Guess you know what it is like to drive a high HP car…like an e30 in the rain.

I understand that Gress and Switzer will be there on Friday, so you should be in good company as you learn the track.

I’m in for chow and the bunny run. I’ll be bringing the kids and the wife for chow so I’ll need to pay extra.

PPatrick, Robert is correct and Fred and I will be at RR for the Seat-time day on Friday.

#6

I’m in for the race but can’t get to track in time for the Low Country boil. My loss, for sure!

#7

I’m in for the race… Wendy and I are in for the boil

#8

If Laura is going to wear the “Bunny” costume, I may just come and watch:silly:

#9

McSpick minus John Clark will be there (Jay, Mark & Sandro) for both. Also, Mark and I have never been at RR, so we’ll be there Friday chasing Fred and Scott along with Paul, it looks like a fun track for the e30’s. Can’t wait!!

If you go off at the exit of 9, work hard to stay off. While skittering across the grass, find a way to stop short of the tower. Or you’ll never live it down.

If you do have to go behind the tower, park your car at the tower and walk over to the portapotty and take a leak. Then get back in your car move down towards turn 1, and get back on to the track.

The trick is to make it look like going behind the tower was really just a planned visit to the head.

#11

Count me in for the race and add Lynn and I to the chow line.

#12

I’ll be there for shrimp on Fri and the funny run on Sat. - DH

#13

What hotel does everyone usually stay at?

#14

A wide variety of hotels are found at the I-95 interchange, one exit north of hwy 80.

For this event we will be at the Cambria

I’m in for the second race, not sure what time I will arrive on Friday for food, though. May be a late arrival, but don’t eat much shrimp, might just drink and hang out. But in for both Saturday races and Sunday.
