Good News

#1

The frame shop just called and said the frame on my car isn’t damaged all that bad and can be straightened. The 4 car will race again!

See you guys at Road Atlanta.

:woohoo:

#3

That is great news, Steve! I look forward to seeing you there!!

#4

Glad to hear that Steve! Get it fixed and get back out there!

#5

Good news, Gasman! Hopefully this repair won’t cost as much as the last one… See ya at RA.B)

#6

That is good news, CMP was a war of attrition.

Hopefully we’ll finish the year with everyone that signed up for a weekend actually racing!

#7

Good news?

I’d say that’s great news!

Glad to hear you’ll be able to get it fixed and get back out there.

These cars are pretty damn amazing… but you guys already know that.

#8

That is really good news! This was a rough weekend for the cars, both mechanical and contact. Sounds like most everyone has a gameplan to get their issues (or at least the car issues) resolved and back at it soon. See you all at RA in a few weeks.

#9

Great news Steve. Mine is hopefully going to be assessed on Friday. Just ordered new strut, control arms, tie rods from Chuck today. Body damage is significant, but fixable; hoping the frame is OK. Should be racing again in March.

Ed, I hope your assessment goes well. Let me know if I can help you find parts. Alex Molitar is building a good reputation of having nice parts available for us at very reasonable prices.

#11

Hell yeah! That’s great, see you at RA.

+1. I just picked up a red right fender, grill, headlights and bumper from him for a song. He also returned my call immediately, showed up on time, and had the correct parts. He just had a bad weekend at CMP (with Damion’s motors), like a few of us did.

#13

Glad it worked out Craig. I like Alex, he is a hard working guy. The neat thing is, he wants to be at all of our races and there is nothing he doesn’t know about an e30.

#14

What’d you do Craig? Drive halfway to Augusta and meet at a Cracker Barrel?

Glad to hear we have another solid parts source in the region. Hopefully in the future we’ll be buying more mechanical bits and fewer body panels from him though!

Au contraire. These were delivered to Atlanta. Next day ground. Fedex can’t hold a candle to this kind of service.

[he was picking up a parts car apparently]

That parts car will be my new front end. My car has been stripped of the damaged areas and goes on the frame machine tomorrow. It occured to me looking at the car this afternoon, the only thing that is original to that car is the doors, floor pan and motor.

#17

Its like the bionic car, stronger, better, faster?

#18

Sounds like a new motor is in order then.
