Go-Karting Winter Championships

#1

Everyone.

As announced before, we would like to have a karting event at Full Throttle Karting in Cincy. www.cincykarting.com

Looks like Feb. 11th will not work out, so we are thinking either Feb. 4th (Superbowl weekend) or Feb 18th. We would like as many people to go as possible, so please chime in on what day you can make it.

Anyone is welcome to attend, but we would like it only to be guys with some hpde/racing background.

Can’t do superbowl weekend, can do 18th.

#3

Planned on the 11th based on the previous discussion, and already made a commitment for the 18th. Superbowl weekend is open for me (don’t care if I see it or not). I can’t kart (prior CTS wrist issue) so I was just coming to hang out with everyone so my vote for date shouldn’t count as much as those karting.

BTW, anybody who needs a new helmet this year interested in trying on the HJC AR10 II (SA2010) helmet at this event? I could send a large & medium down with Sean/Kyle (assuming they could go). Would be significantly cheaper than SafeRacer for pricing to my fellow SE30 competitors.

For the weekend of the 18th/19th, the BMWCCA Buckeye/Bluegrass Karting Challenge will be held on the 18th at Competition Racing (just over the river in Lawrenceburg, IN). If you guys want to come for that and stay over to go to Full Throttle on Sunday, I would be happy to host everyone. I have lots of room! We could make a weekend of it and get into trouble

#5

I plan on going to the BMWCCA event on Saturday 18th, and could make spec e30 karting on Sunday 19th if that’s how it goes down.

#6

do we have an idea on time if we can pick a day? we talking early afternoon, dinnertime, evening? I know that place gets busy later in the afternoon

#7

What happened to the 11th? I can’t make the 4th. Not sure about the 18/19. Will have to see. How many of us can BMWCCA handle if we crash their party? I am a Bluegrass member but don’t get out much with them.

#8

We are thinking 1pm if it’s Sunday. That should give guys time to get there and still get home at a decent time. They don’t open until noon on Sundays. 11am on Saturdays.

Anthony, would you like to answer Michael’s question?

The 4th is a no go. Question now is who is ok with Sunday the 19th? I like the idea of the BMW event on Sat, and are deal on Sun. I would run with the Buckeye chapter and I am apart of Northern Ohio.

#9

I’m flexible on the matter. Just have class during the week. I vote for whatever works best for everyone

#10

The 18/19 weekend would work for me.

#11

Looks like we’re going for the 19th. LMK if any of you guys wanna stay over.

I will have to check on the Buckeye/Bluegrass, but I don’t see why it would be a problem to have more folks, if we get signed up in time.

#12

Guys, sign up for the Buckeye/Bluegrass Karting Challenge HERE:

You must register by Feb 17th.

For Full Throttle Indoor Karting on Sunday, here is the format:
4-minute practice, 6-lap qualifier, and 15-lap race. $35/person

We can do that and then add another race or two after that if we want to. We need some commitments so we can put together our numbers. …and so I can start preparing the Hotel d’Magagnoli. :stuck_out_tongue:

Dibs on the executive suite with a view and full room service!

I’m in, ofcourse.

No Denny, you cannot stay in my room and you will NOT be getting it in.

…(too far?)

#16

I’m in a go-kart pulling your mind out of the gutter, d’Magagnoli.

#17

You don’t have to be a bmw club member do you?

#18

Hmm, sounds intriguing although last time I did indoor I broke two ribs in my back and lost a whole driving season. I can spend one day, but probably not two. Which event is shaping up to have better attendance?

#19

Cam, I don’t think you need to me a member, technically. Just sign up and list yourself under Buckeye Chapter if you’d like to do it.

Rhodes, The Saturday Bluegrass/Buckeye event will be more highly attended, but it’s at a crappy track. The Sunday event will be our official SpecE30 get together and Full Throttle Karting is by far the superior venue.

+1 for Full Throttle. Been to 3 indoor karting facilities in recent years, including where the Bluegrass/Buckeye event will be. Full Throttle is much better.
