getting started

I just purchased a car to race and it seems like this is a great way to go. I live in Salt Lake City, Utah. How far would I need to travel to race? We have an awesome track out here, but from what I can see, no spec e 30 racing. Is there anything happening in Utah?

I just looked on nasa’s site - figured RM region. No dice at MMP. Sorry man, that is a waste of a perfectly good track. Nice place to visit in the summer too - I get to SLC about once a quarter.

I guess we need to start somewhere.

Toad:

It’s good to have you here.

As we did at the very beginning, tell your friends about Spec E30 and if you can get a few others to build cars, other drivers will see the close and low-cost racing and will want to be a part of it.

Toad, I was talking to someone at Infineon today and he said there was an event scheduled at Miller for this year but it fell through due to MMP schedule and they made it up by offering two events to NASA for 2008. It’s second hand to me, but thought I’d pass it along - from what he was saying it is a beautiful track - smoooooth surface, very long and fun. Talk to RM region, I’m sure with the lack of tracks in Colorado north/central they would love to get over to MMP and have some planned in future. Until then you could do track days at MMP.

The other thing you could do is look at NASA Norcal, which would be a bit of a drive but come as far as Reno or possibly Thunderhill. You’d really have to want to race to make that drive.

that is the correct story for Miller this year - RM region will be back there in 2008.

spec e30 is slowly building in the RM region - hope to see you some race.
cheers,
