General maintenance items?

#1

Thought I’d throw this out there, but we’re looking like we’re not going to be able to hit Feb NASA dates :frowning: , but rather March. While we’re getting other stuff done on the car currently (cage/tranny) I was curious if anyone is replacing things like fuel injectors. What is the life span on them? Is there an easy way to make sure you’re getting correct atomization? Is there an easy way to test fuel pressure?

Besides compression check, spark plugs, fluids/filters, belts and rocker’s, what else might be a good “top” 10 we should check before hitting the track without dumping a fist-full of cash at it

Thanks!

Drill and bolt the bracket for the coil down…Ask me how I know…

+1 on the ignition coil. Jim Robinsons car (Southeast) had the factory tack welds break on the coil bracket and trashed the ignition wires during an enduro.

The injectors can be tested, cleaned and matched for a small bit of scratch (http://www.cruzinperformance.com/). I have seen articles online about DIY injector testing/maintenance though…

We stock flow tested and refurbed injectors. IMO it is a great way to get some power back since most of the engines are higher mileage.
Water pump, timing belt combo is a great idea. Convert the cooling system to the late model style, depending on year.
