Free E30 ('86 e) - SOLD

#1

In Atlanta/Decatur/Scottdale. It’s time for another parts car to be gone. It’s a mostly complete '86 325e 5 speed, red, 4 door car with a tan interior. We’ve scavenged the front fenders, hood, steering rack (replaced with a damaged part, but it will roll where you point it) and radiator, but most everything else is still there. The paint is even pretty decent.

Photos are HERE.

I don’t know if it runs. We’ve never tried and I don’t think it has a key. Title? I have no idea. But, it does have TONS of useful parts for someone and I’d hate to send it to the crusher.

Free to the first person who shows up HERE with a trailer. It goes to scrap either tomorrow or Saturday unless someone will promise to have it gone by Sunday morning at the latest.

Either show up or call the number at the link above (ask for Michael). I’ll update this post when I get word that it’s gone.

Matt

I couldn’t find the number in the link, but I will take it. PM me a number and I will make arrangements to get it Sunday.

#3

That’s because I screwed up the link in the copy/paste from Bimmerforums.

Good deal Steve. It’s all yours.

Dang missed it.Would have made #18. I’ve got a problem.

Steve, wanna trade a 2 door for a 4 door?
Kinda like those 4 door e30s…

R Patton

#5

Steve I could use that trans if you wanna sell it

#6

I plan to hang on to the transmission, trailing arms and bumper assemblies.

Robert - If you want the tub, it is yours. If you just want the doors, I can strip those off and hang on to them for you.

I’ll probably pull the pedal assembly in case anyone needs to do a swap.

#7

What are you calling Mid-town’s premier german junk yard?

Ah crap, I forgot the clutch pedal is coming out too. Sorry, it won’t be there.

All that other stuff is exactly what I was contemplating keeping, but I just don’t have the space to put it all. At the moment I’m just planning on not wrecking the car. We’ll see how long that lasts.

Steve if you aren’t going to need them I would love to get the hard brake lines and fuel lines out of this car.

Greg

I may or may not get the car up to Patton’s this weekend. I might just store it at my parking deck. The disassembly won’t happen for a couple/few weeks.

Greg -

The lines are yours. Unlike IndyJim/Geegar’s E90, we might even label which ones go where.

Everyone else -

Just post your parts request here and the highly trained mechanics doing the disassembly will process your requests.

DAMMMMMMMMM I HATE THAT I MISSED OUT ON THIS DEAL… I AM CURENTLY STARTING TO BUILD A CAR TO WOOP SOME SE3.0 ASS. ANYONE HERE LIVE NEAR B-VEGAS?

#13

Steve,

Let me know when you guys plan on stripping the car! If I’m free I could even come down and give you guys a hand.

gregm at moberggroup dot com is the best way to get me.

Sounds great, Greg. I will let you know. Probably after the 4th if Patton doesn’t pour gas on the thing before then since I dumped it in front of his shop.

Parts still up for grabs: four doors, trunk lid (assuming nobody wants the tub with those parts attached), eta motor of unknown condition, front suspension/subframe.

i think i found an '88 is auto, so i’d love the stuff for the 5 spd swap (dont need a tranny though)

Thanks

The pedals were taken out by the P.O. Other than the shift linkage, driveshaft and LSD I think you will want the other parts new? Pelican has the cross brace about as cheap as a junkyard. New clutch slave & line are a good idea. You will need a 3.73 diff since the autos come with a 4.10. Ask me how I know.

#17

Other parts might be closer, but I have everything needed for an auto to 5 speed swap, from the pedal box back to the half shafts. The stuff is just taking up space in the garage, so I can make you a pretty good deal on it.

Thanks Jim
I think i have found most of the parts here in town…but i will keep this in mind, heck its always great to have some spare parts laying around :stuck_out_tongue:

Using the same cutthroat speed you see from me on the track…

Six months later, Robert and I have finally figured out a date to disassemble this thing. Sunday, Sunday, Sunday!!!

As stated previously, parts still up for grabs: four doors, trunk lid (assuming nobody wants the tub with those parts attached), eta motor of unknown condition, front suspension/subframe.

10 am. B.Y.O.S.B.* C’mon by to teach, learn, point, laugh, cry, wrench and/or bleed from the knuckles.

*bring your own sausage biscuit.

If no one else claims that trunk lid, I’ll take it back. If someone needs it and can put it to use, it’s all theirs. I just have a maybe, some day use for it on my daily driver, but nothing solid.
