Floor Plugs

#1

Anyone who has stripped their interior and used a heat gun to remove the insulation/glue from the floor boards, etc. knows what I’m talking about.

In the floor pans, there are several plastic plugs. If removed, you have a 1.5-2" hole, from memory…I have a few of these.

I remember melting one with the heat gun and I think the cage installer got one on the driver’s side…

Anyone have a good solution to plug these up other than welding a circular piece of stock in place??

This car will be at CMP next weekend and there’s LOTS of work to do before hand. :frowning:

slap some tape on it or get on of the floor pans from Factory 3 Performance ($34 if I recall). I wouldn’t weld or seal the holes. Last time I was at CMP I used them to drain all the water out. After the Saturday race (or was it qually) , I had an inch and a half of standing water on the passenger side.

or… you can see if Al can get his hands on some from a junk car

Part #15 for $0.36. Easy. Put some caulk around it too.

ScottMC, while that is how I might deal with A LOT of issues, this is a customer’s car - so I’m looking for the “cleaner” solution. :stuck_out_tongue:

JBlack - THANKS, realoem.com has been a lifesaver over the last few months, I couldn’t find the plugs though, and if I had, I’m sure I wouldn’t know which one to order - thanks again.

Jeff - still need the plugs? I just checked my parts car and have 2.

Hey Ed, thanks for the offer - but I ordered THREE of them through Racewerks the other day, once I got the part pointed out by JBlack.

SO, I think I’ll have an extra if anyone wants one.
