Let the fun begin:
Feb VIR Registration open
I forgot to add that ALL comp licensed expire Dec. 31 of every year so renew yours NOW!!!do not wait till you show up or I will beat you B)
I just signed up for the competition license school on Friday! Woo hoo! I gather that if I want to race, that’s an additional fee? What happens to my race registration fees if I fail to receive my license because I punt Brian Jones off the track?
Thanks,
Sasha
hahahaha…If you punt me off the track, the fees will be the least of your worries…friend.
Seriously though, if you get ANY Bronzit on my car, I may have to kill you…

If you wish to race, you need to register to race. If by some chance you do not pass the Comp Eval, you will receive a Full Refund of the race entry fee.
Sean,
How much track time would you estimate for Friday’s Test and Tune. How will track sessions be divided up?
You should go Steve. Its too cold in in VA in Feb for me:P We’re going to CMP in Feb anyway. VIR in march is going to be the ticket though.
the day alternates between comp school, open track, test tune, instructor clinic.
I don’t have the schedule but it should be 2 hours or so(guessing)

Excuse the newbee questions but…
Is test tune included in the entree fees to the race?
If not… how is it different from the open track?

Its not included in the race entry fee. I don’t think it is much different than open track. NASA just makes more money running two different groups.

Friday activities are completely seperate from the weekend activities. In case you all missed it, VIR raised the rental rates 90% …yes 90% for the early season rentals.Entry fees did not match that increase.
Test and tune is for licensed racers in race prepped cars and on track is race conditions
Open track is for HPDE3/Instructors and passing is point by only.
Sorry Sean, I stand corrected. I was not aware of the difference in the two groups.
No Problem…that is what I am here for.B)
I just signed-up. And thanks Sean for the Comp License renewal comment.
Do we have to renew by mail or can it be done online?
Thanks,
Carter

Sean,
Does the comp school have a "graduation race?" If so, is this friday as well? I am assuming it will not be one of the two sprint races saturday or sunday correct?
Thanks,
Brian
Brian and others:
Yes, you will get a couple of practice starts and a race at the end of the day, along with the classroom and on-track sessions/exercises during the day.
