how are you guys handling the extra (useless) wires that are inside the car after removing rear speakers, radios, etc. ??
It’s not legal to remove them, right ??

I didn’t see anything in the rules pertaining to that (although I’m a newbie). I would think you could replace any piece of wire you had to, or remove one. What if you’re whole electrical harness got fried? I can’t imagine having to reinstall all the wiring for your speakers and power windows?

I think it has been previously established that wiring that pertains to systems that can legally removed (i.e. radios, cruise control) are considered part of that system and can also be removed.
Wholesale surgical work on the main harnesses is probably outside the spirit of the rules, and furthermore, is likely to lead to problems down the road and is just not worth the trouble.
Yes, removing the speaker wires along with the speakers is fine. But don’t start cutting up the wiring too quickly. A few guys did that and found out they had to go back and find the wire they shouldn’t have cut, because the engine wouldn’t start.
Plus, you have to make the minimum weight anyway.
Spend your time on something that really matters in the car.

The radio/speaker/sound system whatever you want to call it is on a separated harness. Just take the time to route it through the body and connectors and it will actually come out in one peice.
