I have seen a few posts about people adding extra oil to compensate for possible oil pressure loss in turns and I was wondering how much extra do you guys put in and what is too much? I don’t have a crank scraper or accusump or anything like that but if I can add 1/2 quart extra as insurance I’ll do it. I’ve just heard in the past that too much oil causes problems also. Opinions, personal preferences, conjecture all welcome. Thanks.
extra oil in engine?

Consensus is a 1/2qt to a quart high. Since you don’t have a crank scraper, I’d do the quart high.
Too much oil can cause frothing if a connecting rod or the crank slaps into the oil. But a quart high is not enough to cause that.

From what I have read, most seem to run 1/2 quart high, I just had an issue were I was about 3/4 -1 quart high and I was burning oil like crazy, LOTs OF SMOKE out of the tail pipe. I set it back to Normal Full level and no oil burning.
