All,
Working on the car for this weekend, and noticed that the head shields that protect the spark plug wires are deteriorating. How do I replace these, or is there something else that I can put in their place to deflect the heat?

According to the parts catalog at realoem.com, they’re integrated with the manifold gasket, so if they’re failing, the gasket might be going too (?)…

~$25 each at the dealer, if available (2 needed)
I don’t know if that helps or not…
They ARE part of the exaust manifold gasket and can be a little cumbersome to replace. Get new copper nuts and chase the threads on the studs if you can.
