Estimated Start up costs (.xls file)

I know there have been other threads on this and I’m sure there’s better ways of introducing myself to the SE30 group, but I thought others might find this helpful.

I have it broken into required and optional items based on the SE30 rules and NASA CCR. I didn’t get a price for everything, but I tried to get a price for what most people will need to be competitive.

Try not to abuse me too much over this, I realize that my pricing may not be the cheapest or most accurate, but at least it will give some of us an idea of what we’re getting in to.

Thanks.

great job on this.
Shipping costs can start mounting up as well if you buy too many things from too many places so look for the package deals. Also, slightly used components pop up on ebay all the time so set up some automatic searches and notification.

Where do you live?

Being computer illiterate I’m not good at looking at spread sheets.

Don’t over analyse the situation. Find someone in your area to help you out and go for it!

The first car/safety gear will cost 15K. You can build the second car for 10k as you know what you’re doing. If someone else does the build you’re looking at about 18k. Used cars are sometimes available.

Regards, Robert Patton

PS Supporting vendors (Factory 3, Bimmerworld,Elephant others )have developed lists of all the goddies that you need. The don’t oversell. I trust them all. Tell 'em Robert says "hey."

Yep that’s about right for the whole package. I’ve spread my cost out over the last 2 years.

Robert is spot on, been there done that.

Cozog,

Welcome!

Nice to have another coupe guy joining the SE30 ranks.

Cozog,

Nice Job…one thing to add to the required list is an AMB transponder. Checking I/O Port’s catalog the asking price is $340 for a hardwired transponder (ouch!)
