I had it with IE brand. First teh rear sway bar, now the motor mount. The first one cracked, the second melted, I have the gasket/heat shield and the old mount didn’t melt.
Unfortunately we can’t use solid metal mounts so I was wondering what’s your experience with different brands before I spent another $200.
ENGINE/MOTOR MOUNT BRAND?

Vorschlag makes high durometer (95) motor and tranny mounts. Note that the endcaps are aluminum. The guys that have the experience I lack seem to prefer motor/tranny mounts and bushings on the hard side. When my motor mounts start failing, I’m going to get these Vorschlag ones.
I have the matching tranny mounts. They seem much more rugged then the mystery ones they replaced.

Motor and Transmission Mount Set - Polyurethane 75D (Straight bolt-through)
For BMW e30 (323 and 325 only)
Recommended for race use only
Set of two motor mounts and two trans mounts
#MTS325
Price: $90.00
They look good.
They work very well, also. Installed a set on Allen Garner’s car. Be sure and motor and trans when you do the swap. CB
Has anybody tried the Turner or UUC mounts or heard about them? The first looked regular rubber encapsulated by aluminum, and the second they have different material hardness, one is as hard as a bowling ball.
