I need a defrost/heater solution for Wisconsin use. I’m thinking of just building an aluminum box around the exhaust in the center of the car and pumping it to the window.

How about an inverter and one of these:

Or you could leave the heater core in service, which seems to work really well with new hoses installed. There is no allowance in the rules for an old 911-style heater solution like that anyway. “An electric windshield defogging system may be added.”
