economical rotor recommendations?

Need to replace my rotors (along with left front bearing, and tie rods, but I digress…).

Do vents or drills REALLY make a difference?
Is OEM the way to go?
So many makers/sellers out there… $39 - $170 per rotor.
Anyone think they have found a really good value.

By “vent” you mean slotted? Go with solid. Holes and slots are just for bling. They only create failure points. Modern track pads don’t require slots or holes to handle pad outgassing.

In this context “vented” means channels inside of the rotors for air to flow in between the two rotor surfaces. All available E30 front rotors are vented.

I would go ahead and replace that wheel bearing…
failures can be catostrophic (sp?)

Try www.partsplusautostore.com
fronts $18.43
rear $17.50

I got my last set from them and orders over $50 have free shipping. I got mine in like 2 days.

While I was driving home today with less than a quarter tank, I thought I should look for some gas. First station, none, second station, none, third station, bingo! The local Shell, with no line, and one grade, premium for my rusty runner E30 commuter (a cop in the gas lot making sure people stayed civil). I’d happily pay $10 a gallon for gas! Life is good.
Thanks to all for info.
I was thinking the vents, er, slots, and holes were perhaps unproven enhancements… I’ll go solid.
Unlike the rusty runnerI drive to work, Bitsy hasn’t moved since limping home from RA a week and half ago. Bearing will be fixed before she moves, then I’ll do the other stuff. Then a replace of all fluids, and she’ll be ready (for Spring).

SirGary,
Have the rotors held up well for you?

I guess I’ll also need some new studs.

Rotors have been great.

Sorry to hear about the gas problems y’all have having. It’s strange that we don’t have ANY shortages here in FL.
