East Coast Spectating Group

The conversation went something like this:
Darling wife: "We need a weekend away. I got my mom and [our babysitter] to watch the kids next weekend. Let’s go to the beach."
Me: “Sounds good.”

As much as I wanted to see the old gang, I’ve found that watching racing is a lot like watching sex. After you’ve seen it live a few times, the excitement fades and you realize a well-edited video is better in a lot of ways.

Alright guys. I spoke with Arjun and Jason from UUC and they are not racing, but plan on attending. So if anyone has extra passes can you please put them on your crew list.

Arjun Soundararajan
Jason Rose

Yes I had to look up Arjun’s name because I had it saved as Soundgarden.

[quote=“Ranger” post=78113]We need a master list of those committed to coming and those committed to leaving crew passes in their name. Otherwise this is going to get confused and folks won’t get in, or crew passes will get wasted.

Here’s the start of the master list. Pls copy/paste the whole list as it fills in later posts.

Spectator, Crew pass donor
Chuck Taylor, Scott Gress
Arjun Sundararajan, Scott Gress
Jason Rose, Al K
Eric Moberg, Al K
Brendan Digel, Brian Edmonds
Greg Moberg, Brian Edmonds
Matthew Swords Brian Edmonds
David Waldman, Rich Bratton
Available pass, Rich Bratton
Jim Robinson Coming?
Geiger Coming?
Chris Tuttle Coming?
Jim Levie Coming?

I am still a strong maybe. Need to look up some living accomodations. Is Chris Harkins going to be there? He still owes me half a hotel weekend, haha.

I’ve updated the crewpass list above. I’ll contact each person and confirm that they are ok with it.

Big news! Boys and Girls, I am very pleased to announce that Rich Bratton is coming to East Coast Nats. He’s been busting his ass for the last week getting his car ready and we’ll be seeing him at the track. Woohoo!

Speaking of getting his car together at the last minute, as you can see in the above list, Al K is coming also. He damaged his car on the track day prior to Barber back in Feb. The damage not only bent up the frame a bit, but also bent the rear subframe. The fact that the rear subframe was bent added significant hassle to the repair effort because the frame shop did not detect that the subframe was damaged until late in the process. Al sourced a replacement subframe, had the camber/toe adjusters welded on and the shop was only recently able to finish up his car. Last week the car went to an alignment shop. On Friday he loaded the car up in the trailer and was headed home when his tow vehicle threw it’s serpentine belt. I fetched his trailer and he had his truck towed to a shop. Saturday the belt got replaced on the truck and he was finally able to take trailer and race car back home. Barber was >7 months ago and he finally got his car home 3 days ago. And he’ll be on the road for East Coast Nats Thur. Awesome!

If possible, I would like to get a pass for one of Aaron’s buddies, David Waldman, for Saturday and Sunday. David has been taking some awesome pictures this last year of the Spec E30 cars and I would like to see if we can get him in so he can photograph the Nationals for us. If there is an extra, let’s see if we can get him in.

#27

I added David. I note that we’re getting low on crew pass donors tho.

#28

I still have one available if anyone needs it.

#29

I could use it if you’ve still got it, Matt. I need to get out there and see if I can learn a thing or two. I plan on being there both Saturday and Sunday.

How does this actually work? I’m guessing we just leave a name at registration, so the “crew” can pick up passes when they arrive.

If so, I need a name. I don’t think Barrosco will suffice. Either post or send me a private message and I’ll let registration know.

#31

I believe Scott had mentioned the process in this thread or the Nationals thread. I’ll go ahead and send you a PM.

I plan on coming down to watch / cheer on Saturday, so if there is a crew pass thingy still available, count me in.
