E30 convertible for sale?

#21

Steve came by RA on the way home from fetching his E30 convertable. Near as I could tell it’s in showroom condition and he got it for a song. Dang.

#22

Please tell me it wasn’t an Elton John song…but it probably was.

#23

Gasman gets the credit. I’ve just tried to maintain it where it was.

#24

She is a beaut, and you have taken exceptional care of it.

The car is in pretty good shape. The car has been resprayed so the paint is decent. PO recovered the seats so they don’t have the typical 'vert tears. But he used vinyl?!?!?! Ick. The top is there, but needs work. The motors and mechanisms are farked.

It runs well, but is in desperate need of a 5 speed swap. And the last timing belt was 2001, so I’m gonna go all Ranger on that thing and see if I can do one.

If it is still running after that, then it is time for shocks, springs, etc. Patton is already in my ear about slamming it down about an inch.

Now you have a running parts car…

I’ve got a 93 325is and im looking for some bbs wheels. Will you just sell the wheels?

#29

As much as I would like to get some wheels larger than the 14" basketweaves, I really like to keep my cars as original as possible so I am not looking to sell the wheels yet.

As I understand it, the E30 ix came with 15" basketweaves that are 1/2" wider than the RWD cars came with. If I can score a set of those, that’s what I will do when I put new springs/shocks on the 'vert. That project is pending confirmation that the IRS agrees with my accountant’s math.

The IX weaves are the wrong offset for a normal E30, you need to look for a set of euroweaves. You can often find a set in the classifieds on BF.c or R3V

You are a treasure trove of E30 minutiae!

Do they work with spacers?

#32

By the time you buy hubcentric spacers and longer wheels studs it won’t be worth it.

The Euroweaves are 15x7 et 24 perfect fit

This set is a little pricey, and don’t worry about center caps I don’t think they are any different than the ones on the 14s
