Dyno/Tech Inspection 2014 on Jan 25 (Saturday)

#1

Header says it all.

Be at Balanced Performance on Saturday for dyno runs and tech inspection to get ready for 2014.

Cost:$50 cash for a set of runs. Jason says that tips to the staff are greatly appreciated.I normally bring $80-$100 (still a bargan).

Remembering that a tech inspection alone is about $100 and you see what a value this day will be.

Starts at 9:00am and usually is over by 2:30 or so . Sandro will bring the 11:00am beer. Walsh/Lako/Clement bring the pizza. What will you bring? Drop in at any time.

Please RSVP here so we can schedule the day.

I will be there with 3 cars. If we need additional parking, our plant is two doors down from Balanced Performance.

Thanks for putting this together Robert.

Ryan, your note started the phone calls. We may need the parking. Thanks. See everyone there.

I am hoping to make it up there as well.

#7

Too far away for me, but it sure is a great deal. Doesn’t Annual Tech cost $100 in the paddock?

#8

I should be there with the #47 car, funds permitting.

#9

The 117 car will be there. I’ll bring the Rolaids

Happy New Year to all you guys!!

#10

I’ll be there, and I’ll bring the before noon cerveza! but really doubt that the new #32 will be ready, Maybe I’ll get the rest of the team up there! Happy New Year ALL!! it looks like it’s going to be a great one!

#11

Is the Race Director going to require a dyno sheet prior to competing this year, to confirm hp and ballast?

If we can’t make it to Balanced will we have to provide our own Dyno Plot prior to competing?

What is the process if a driver doesn’t have proof of HP?

#12

I don’t believe there is any requirement to have this information before racing. You just must be prepared to have your car dyno’d at the track and hope you are within the specs. I would assume that there will be a dyno present at one of the very early events, like the March Road Atlanta event. But could be sooner.

Hoping to be there

Damion, great to see you. How many races you planning on doing this year?

Re. dyno standard. I was confused about this last Summer so I had to go to Carter to understand how the standard is to be implemented.

You are not obligated to have some dyno sheet that certifies your hp. You are simply obligated to have the right weight for your hp, and you are subject to dq if you have too much hp. Therefore you don’t need a dyno sheet in your logbook like a GTS racer. Instead, when a dyno shows up at an event for post-race tech, the weight of your car needs to synch with the dyno result.

Going to a dyno on your own gives you a chance to set your weight per the dyno result. Also, if your dyno report indicates that your engine is not a front-runner, every month you can taunt those you beat.

Hopefully 5 or 6 weekends. depends on if I can stop spending money this thing

#16

Dang, very nice.

#17

Dang, the Zuffenhausen Zombies are taking over. That makes at least 3 racers of E30s in Georgia that I know of (myself included) who have recently gotten a 911 street car. And yes, that does appear to be a very Bad Ride.

#18

I want a blue 997.1 GT3 so badly, but I just swapped the BRZ out for yet another E92 M3. Damn street cars ruin my funds for making more race weekends.

#19

E30 drivers have good taste! And yes it is a beast of a car!

I am adding this to my calendar. Be there with one car. Thanks for arranging.
