Dyno Day in Atlanta area for January?

#1

I’d like to get a dyno for my car before CMP in Feb. My sense at RA in December was that I was down on power and could not keep up with anyone on the backstretch. (I know that I suck in turn 7, but this was less obvious in August at RA.)

Anyway, is anyone else interested in arranging a group buy for some dyno time? I suggest Saturday the 14th or 21st I think the last one was at PFM Engineering in July. Other suggestions are welcome.

I can help arrange a group session if there are others who want to join. Just let me know.

Jon, thanks for the idea.

I talked to Jason at Balanced Performance, Buford Ga, about a dyno day.
Jason reminded me that they also do the NASA annual inspections and he put together a package price of $70-$85 depending on how many cars we can bring over.

Saturday, January 28 should give everyone time to get new items needed for the annual inspection.

Sound good?

Who will be there?

Others?

I might be up for that. Would be nice to get my annual out of the way this month.

#4

It is too quiet out there…

Anyone else?

#5

Sorry, Robert - work got in the way again.
Yes, the 28th works for me.
What new items are needed for the inspection? Any rules changes? or just belt/helmet updates, etc.?

#6

Saturday the 28th would work for me.

#7

Okay, I’ll call Jason later today.
Annual inspection: Emphasis on all of your safety items, belts, shoes, suit, helment, safety shutoff, fire system, etc. So bring all your race stuff.

And, so, well…I called Jason and he’s got plans to go to Daytona that weekend.

Is February 4 good for Jon and Fred and others that might join in? Sorry for the miscommunication.

#9

Sounds like Jason has his priorities askew; he’ll be having fun in Dayona when he could be working in Sugar Hill?
Yes, the 4th works for me. (But less time to address any issues prior to CMP.) I could also do the 21st.

#10

Jon I agree about the 2/4 timing, but it is better than trying to address to problem at CMP!

Sorry, I can’t make it on 1/21. So, since I’ve got the mostest cars…can others make it 2/4?

RP

#11

I could be down for 2/4 – I can’t do the 21/28th anyway.

#12

Rats, got my niece’s wedding in Raleigh the 4th. :frowning:

#13

be sure to ping me when you’re in town. need a place to stay?

#14

Jason, will do! But I don’t need a place to stay - my brother lives in Wake. Thanks for the offer tho’

#15

If there’s room for one more, I can probably make Saturday the 4th…

#16

Confirmed with Jason that we’ll be there on 2/4.
He has someone else on the dyno in the AM so we can’t start runs until 1:00.
Show up a little earily and get your NASA annual done?
Stagger in at 1;30,2;00 and fit into the afternoon activities?

I’ll be there about 12;00 to get the annual thing out of the way.

So, I’m in with two cars, maybe 3.
Jon?
Kelly?
Chuck?
Julio/Eric?
Others?

#17

Yes, I will be there with one car. The PM works best for me, so that is good. I’d prefer a time slot for the dyno around 2.

#18

Possibly. The car is in about 15 pieces and the diff is laying on the ground. No workie on car until next Thursday at the soonest so could be a stretch.

#19

Still room for the 4th?? I may be able to make this happen.

#20

Unfortunately it looks like I’m not going to be able to make it up on Saturday. Between house work (long story) and the BMW dinner Saturday night, I can’t get up and back in time.
