Dual fuel pump fuel level

#1

I have ordered the low pressure pump drivers side and a high pressure pump passenger side on the 63L tank per some instructions on this forum from “crankpiston”. What I don’t understand is while not utilizing a fuel gauge sender on the low pressure pump, how that “hole” gets sealed. Also, he indicated getting a sender on that pump was a winter project. Anyone know how that is accomplished?

You use the same sender the passenger side uses.

Your fuel gauge will work fine if you do this (use 2 senders). each gauge is 0-60ohm. The late cars expect a 0-120 ohm signal.

Alternatively, you can plug the hole in the new pump however you wish, bypass the driver side level sender, and switch to an early fuel gauge (easiest to find a 87’ cluster, otherwise you need to disassemble the cluster and swap only the fuel gauge).

I also think this gauge, from amazon, will work close (10-73 ohm for vw) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00CMC4ANC/?coliid=I23THCB5BTZGGE&colid=27H39TBBF13ND&psc=1&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it
