Driveshaft bushing-Guib center sleeve

I bought a new center bushing. Had trouble getting old one out. The race seemed to be almost welded to the inside of the shaft. I took my driveshaft to a driveshaft shop and they said they could get the residual out and press in new sleeve. Went to pick it up today and guess what they screwed it all up. They seated the bushing all the way in and cracked the race. I have another shaft and the sleeve sits about the edge of the shaft about a 1/4 inch. Has anybody had any experience with replacing this bushing? Does it have to sit above the shaft a 1/4 inch?

It looks like it must stick out 4.5mm if I’m reading it right.

Yeah, they are going to pay for a new bushing.
