Driver Side rear quarter panel neded

#1

Does anyone in this area have a rolling 2-door chassis, big bumper/86,87,88car where the DS rear quarter panel can be cut off for use?

The Panther wiil roll to the body shop/frame guy on Monday with a new rear subframe, differential and trailing arm. Just in case, the back glass and side glass come out.New door, front fender too. Gotta get a donor car over for the back sheetmetal.

Call if you got the part…770-886-2500.

Robert -

All I have to offer is the small bumper variety. I don’t know how different they are, but if nothing else pans out it might be of some use to you.

If you go by OPM and look at it, take a look at the front to see if it might be useful to Chuck. It’s the dark grey one in the grass next to the loading dock.

Steve, thanks, I was there yesterday. I think that rollover is a big bumper car and its rear quarter panel had too much crunchiness to be used. I told Chuck about the front, but he does not want to mix-n-match bumper styles.

I don’t think the rules allow such radical departures. But I’d do it if that was the only parts I could find. I’ll lobby on a rules allowance of mixing-n matching in my spare time. That is a different subject for a different day.

I don’t have one but might be able to point you in the right direction. I think Al Taylor’s old black car was a big bumper car. And it seems like the rear was in OK shape…

See if you can get in touch with one of the MLT guys. They might be able to help you out.

Have you called Strictly German?

Robert,

I have a 87is parts car with a good rear quarter. I did not plan on cutting the thing up, but it has no title, so it has two options: sacrifice itself to another car, or become a race car. It also has a good rear subframe and trailing arms!!

The only thing is I have not pulled all the parts I want off it yet. I would be willing to let you trailer the shell away for some help stripping the car!!

Robert,
The chassis you gave me has a usable rear quarter (needs paint and has a few rust spots around the antenna hole but otherwise good). The car is an 11/87 325i. Where’s the panther (I could put it on my trailer and get it there)?

p.s. I called but got the answering machine - figured you’d see this first. I’m at 864 656-4980.

Thanks, all. Purchased a car at Strictly German yesterday,$200.

Adding up the cost:25 hours labor…free, I love to fix stuff and drive around looking for used junk.
$1000 at the body shop
Misc parts…free, I’ve purshased lots of spares in the past.
And this is an inexpensive racing repair.

What would be the point of doing that?
