I am selling my car.
1987 (Diving board) E30 325e
The car has been stripped of all interior, doors, fenders, hood, trunk and glass. The sunroof mechanism has been removed and a sheet of alluminum cut and trimmed to cover the sunroof aperture.
The front floor pans at the jacking points were rusted out and have been Properly cut out and replaced with fresh steel. Then seam welded inside and out and seam sealed and painted. I also repaired the rusted out passenger side transmission crossmember mounting point. The well either side of the spare wheel well in the trunk were also cut out and replaced with fresh steel. There is only one area left to replace and it is the size of a cigarette packet on the underside of the front chassis leg under the inner fender…an easy repair…all the hard rust repairs have been made. If i find the time I will also repair this area prior to sale.
The underside of the car was then wire brushed, cleaned and painted up to the rear suspension (I never got the time to drop the rear suspension paint the floor and instal the Spec stuff.)
This is a VERY solid car now.
I have also stripped out the electric window mechanisms, wiring, switchgear and power actuators from the vehicle and sourced a set of manual window mechanisms.
The interior has been completely removed and trashed so it will need seats and a cage for SpecE30. Alot of the unnecessary wiring has been traced and removed and the uncracked dash is also out of the vehicle but present.
The previous owner is a friend and immediately prior to me buying this vehicle from him I fitted it with 4 all new wheel bearings, rear brake backing plates and new rear rotors and new front and rear brake pads (street pads). All the original suspension is still in situ and the steering is all still complete so getting this on a trailer requires only a winch or a push.
The car still has the original “e” motor in place, 5 speed trans and open diff in place. The motor is partially stripped with the main wiring harness and ECU, exhaust manifolds disconnected ready to have the motor pulled removed.
The replacement 325"i" motor/harness and ECU, all the Spec E30 suspension, race seat and Superlites have been sold however I do have the following parts to go with the car
2 x New front fenders
2 x New Control arms
2 x New control arm bushing (street not track came with car)
1 x new fuel filler neck tube and associated hoses
2 x Used manual window mechanisms
1 x Very good condition 3.73:1 LSD
1 x Used spare front crossmember (ready to reinforce while the original sits in the car for mobility)
I was intending to make this chassis one of the most competitive in SpecE30. I also intended having the interior and exterior painted once the cage was in hence the removal of all the glass and trim. Unfortunately a change in my personal life means there will be no SpecE30 racing for me.
The car currently looks like crap but if you have built a track car before you will see how much work has been done and see this as the deal it is. The diff alone is going for $250 at current prices.
All that work done and all those parts and all I want for the car is $600 FIRM and I will not part out.
