Diff rebuild question

#1

I can’t remember for the life of me (even though this is the third one I’ve done), how much resistance there is after the rebuild. It’s still on the bench and is hard as heck to turn by hand on the input shaft. Shouldn’t it be easily turned with little to no resistance, or is it tough to spin after the rebuild? Just want to make sure I did it right before putting it back in…

Great to see you Travis…. I’ve not done a diff rebuild before so can’t really help. I would have imagined that it ought to spin reasonably easily tho.

Hey Travis,

I’ve only done 2, but IIRC they were both relatively easy to turn after the rebuild. Did you change any of the crush washers? If not, you might want to reassemble. There is a pdf file of the rebuild somewhere on the site. Perhaps someone else with weigh in.

That’s it Ed!I forgot to put one of the washers in. Spins freely now. Thanks.
